About the event

This feast marks the 14th day of the first month (Abib/Nisan) at twilight.
It commemorates how the people of Israel were delivered from slavery in Egypt: the final plague passed over those whose door-posts were marked with the lamb’s blood (Exodus 12). In the broader biblical view, it stands for redemption: being freed from bondage and passing through from death to life.
For Christian faith, many see a fulfilment in the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, whose blood brings deliverance (see 1 Cor 5:7, etc.).
For 2026, this sets the stage for the spring feasts and the rhythm of God’s redemption timetable.
