About the event
Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets) falls on the 1st day of the seventh month (Tishrei) and is marked by the blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation, and rest from work.
It is sometimes called “the day of shouting” or “blasting” (Leviticus 23:24). Theologically it points to new beginnings (the civil new year in the Hebrew calendar), the gathering of God’s people, and a call to watch and prepare.
For many Christians, this feast points ahead to the return of Christ.
